The light grey of old has been replaced by a more modern, darker look that’s perhaps more ‘on trend’ with other contemporary music production software. More obvious to the existing user is the restyling of the user interface. At the same time, though, it will run on a pretty modest system, and 32‑bit support is maintained for those who still need it. Yes, that’s very much a change under the hood, but should mean Acid’s longevity is assured for a good while yet, and that it can handle more complex projects on modern computers.
